Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection
Texts by Luciano Benetton, Guido Magnaguagno, Francine Mury, Sabina Straccia
More than 200 works by young talents and established artists to recount the climate, the personalities, the currents and artistic disciplines that animate the vibrant and fertile world of Swiss contemporary art. Works from all 26 cantons in the Confederation that reflect the languages, mentalities, different cultures of a remarkable country that enjoys an incredibly high density of museums, public and private funding dedicated to the promotion of culture and young talents, and an economic situation that allows many to collect art. Nestled in the heart of Europe, little Switzerland reflects the words of the Bernese artist Paul Klee: "not to render the visible, but to render visible".
Imago Mundi Helvetia is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.
www.imagomundiart.com is the web platform of the entire project
