Loving Art Is Art - Imago Mundi
Contemporary Artists from Lithuania
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection
Texts by Luciano Benetton, Arvydas Žalpys, Rasa Andriušytė-Žukienė
A collection that attests to Lithuania's historic artistic vocation. 145 works, a lively expression of a centrifugal creative force that places no limits on fantasy, constructing imaginary universes with surprising chromatic and narrative efficacy. Portraits, landscapes, more of the mind than physical, expressionisms, abstractions, plasticity. But also folklore, mythology, ancient legends, occult beliefs and futurisms. 145 artists from different generations and different Lithuanian cities, who use a variety of techniques and expressive tools, choosing and developing their themes and ideas in the common belief that ‘Loving Art is Art’.
Loving Art Is Art. Contemporary Artists from Lithuania is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.
www.imagomundiart.com is the web platform of the entire project
