Contemporary Artists from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection

Texts by Luciano Benetton, Enrico Mascelloni, Gamal Bokonbaev, Alla Rumyantseva, Guja Mabellini, Azat Annaev

A collection from Imago Mundi’s artistic journey that pays richly deserved homage to a new generation of artists who make contemporary experience their own, integrating it with social commitment and information technology. 210 works in which echoes of the Koran, Sufi wisdom, Russian art, realism, folklore, traditional music and the sirens of globalization meet, mingle and multiply in a colourful tapestry of harmonies and contrasts. The Kyrgyz, Tajik and Turkmen artists envelop social reality - the conflicts and the harmonies - in shapes and colours. And sometimes they turn away from it, with a captivating and mysterious freedom, as if to educate the soul beyond what the eye can see.

Worlds. Contemporary Artists from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.

www.imagomundiart.com is the web platform of the entire project.
